🚀 Project Origin

Hello everyone, I'm the developer of CheckDead.

The inspiration for creating CheckDead came from my deep reflections on solo living and privacy boundaries. In this digital age, I found that existing safety solutions often fall into two extremes: either demanding excessive privacy (real-time GPS tracking) or having interactions that are too cumbersome, making people hesitant to use them.

As someone who values independent living but also cares about safety, I wanted to create a tool that protects privacy while providing peace of mind. Thus, CheckDead was born.

💡 Core Philosophy

We aim to create a "digital talisman": it stays quiet when your life is normal, but speaks for you when you fall silent.

As I've always believed: technology's greatest kindness is remembering to call for help when you're most helpless.

CheckDead's Design Principles:

1. Privacy First

  • No location binding, no data theft
  • We care about your safety, not your whereabouts
  • Adopt minimal data collection principles, storing only information necessary for safety functions

2. Minimal Interaction

  • One second per day, press one big button
  • So simple you barely notice its existence
  • Highly focused interface to avoid information overload

3. Direct Care

  • Your contacts won't receive useless notifications
  • Only in genuine emergencies will they receive that crucial alert
  • More reassuring than "read but no reply" is "daily read"

🎯 Target Users

CheckDead is designed for the following people:

  • People living alone: Adding a digital talisman to solo living
  • Elderly living alone: Giving distant children extra peace of mind
  • Adventure travelers: An extra layer of security while exploring the world
  • Anyone who values privacy but cares about safety

🌟 Brand Vision

Our goal: Turn every worried "Are you okay?" into a calm "safety check-in".

At CheckDead, we believe:

  • Safety shouldn't come at the cost of privacy
  • Technology should serve people, not control them
  • The simplest solutions are often the most effective

🤝 Invitation to Participate

CheckDead is an evolving project. I'm eager to hear feedback and suggestions from users:

  • What do you think of the current feature design?
  • What features would you like to see?
  • What difficulties have you encountered while using it?

Every suggestion you provide will help me make CheckDead better. After all, the best products are those that truly understand and meet user needs.
